Burlington Road Race went down today--the most non-selective road race known to man. I followed some breakaways on the way out in the first 30 miles, and eventually ended up in a small move with Fresh, Knapp, and one other dude. We were rolling it okay, when all of a sudden...crash! Some overlapped wheels were the cause, it happens in bike racing. It just sucks to happen to me--in a break--on the birthday. Oh well, a bit of road rash but ready to go tomorrow.
My ABD teammate Jeff ended up in the winning breakaway of 11, and put in a 2km to go attack with Brian Jenson and others--but it was an all or nothing move, and it came back for the finish. Cole House took a great tactical win today, congrats to the man back from Belguim. My teammate ended up in 7th place.
Tomorrow is the Snake--I'm shaking already. For good reasons.
