Well Sunset didn't treat me well, as it seems is the norm at Redlands. A crash on the climb up to the circuits took me out, and I blew my energy chasing back to the pack. The climb on the first circuit lap quickly shelled me, and I got in a chase group with Sheldon and a bunch of Jelly Belly and Symmetrics riders. I hung on for a while, but in the end I blew up just a bit too early and pulled out on the second lap with another small group.
Overall, it was one hell of a race. I needed this to get me in NRC mode for the rest of the year.
Time for a break. Racing will continue full time in May.
