Preparation

I'm now to the stage in my training where I do a lot more intensity and a little less volume to get my top-end fitness into gear. Base miles were fun, but DAMN!--Intervals are so much more exciting.

Fred and I put ourselves in the hurt box yesterday, driving through some VO2 intervals to really get the power out of the legs. Fred concluded that "VO2's are tough, but not as tough as Triple XXX on the balls." I would concur, alhough I have no intention of trying the XXX feat.

Fred says, "Dude, I would SO need at least $3 to put Triple XXX on the balls."

You know what happened next.....

I'm sending in a ton of registration forms for races right now, in particular, the Memorial Day weekend races in Burlington and the Rock Cut Enduro. My schedule is pretty packed for racing right now--hopefully everything comes together as planned over the next 2 months. Scratch that--it'll never go as planned, but I at least hope I get to race and win a couple times.

Ore to Shore and Chequmeagon entry forms have been accepted and paid for. My WORS series number is 23. Everything is falling into place except for being quite broke. Thats just one result of our racing addictions, eh?

It's sunny and 55 degrees out today--gotta go ride. Easy today, with the new UW team kits. I'll probably drop by State Street after a couple hours and check out all the sun-bathers in Library Mall. I love spring!

MTB girl....

I'll be racing Cat 3 at Burlington, I'm doing Snake Alley, Quad and Melon Cities crits.

Thanks for the heads up about those race weekends, I'd much rather do that now that Tour de 10000 Lakes is canceled.

Good luck, see you there!

The Snake is so sick...search for some pictures of it on Google, it'll give you goosebumps!

Make sure to send in your registration form now, otherwise you'll start at the back and never make it up to the front after everone walks up the Sanke!

But good mountain biker-becoming roadiers sometimes do....

Truth is Fresh and I started the sprint too far back in the field. Never again. Today Fresh and I grabbed 2-3 in the sprint. No boxing in sight.

Snake Alley it is. 15 laps up cobbled, twisty, muddy, steep switchbacks.

Somehow I know you're looking forward to it too!
